The tire
An outer tire consists of three basic elements: the carcass, the bead core and the rubber tread surface, with possibly an anti-puncture layer. The heel of the tire determines the tire diameter and ensures a correct and secure connection to the rim. With folding bands, a bead of aramid fibers is used instead of steel wire. The carcass is the 'skeleton' of the tire. On both sides the fabric is provided with a layer of rubber and cut at a 45-degree angle. This angle, directed towards the running direction, ensures the stability of the belt. Usually the carcass is made of nylon. A denser woven carcass is stronger (see EPI, woven carcass density).
