The Celestron CGEM DX 1100 is a high-quality Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The lens of 11 "(280 mm) is equipped with XLT coatings so that you are able to see the sharpest images. This high quality optical system is coupled with a strong, balanced CGEM DX ™ -mount, which has been specially developed by Celestron . The Equatorial mount is completely computer controlled and is suitable to carry 11. "- and 14" optical tubes. The strong legs of the tripod have a diameter of 7 cm, so that a 14"-optically system can be carried in a strong, stable and vibration-free way.
Easy and comfortable to use
The CGEM DX ™ -mount is able to carry a weight of 23 kilos, and to horizontally turn with 5 ° per second. Every celestial object can therefore rapidly be turned into view by moving the lens. The ergonomic design, with large adjustment knobs, means that you can align quickly and easily. The integrated wiring of the RA and DEC motor provides a sleek look and allows for an easy, hassle-free set-up.
Particularly well suited for astrophotography
The new alignment system of the CGEM DX 1100, is called All-Star ™ and allows users to choose any bright star. The software calculates and assists in polar alignment. Especially for astrophotography, this telescope has been equipped with a Periodic Error Correction (PEC), which automatically corrects periodic errors. Shooting with a slow shutter speed will therefore be smoother and better than ever. The CGEM DX 1100 is able to track objects and to hold on to them even if they go on the Meridian. This gives you continuous images in the most ideal part of the sky.
Large database of objects
The CGEM mount has an extensive database of more than 40,000 pre-programmed objects, and you can program another 100 objects yourself. Thanks to the new electronics there is a constant flow of energy directed toward towards the engines. Even when the telescope is not completely balanced, the motors are still able to send out. This feature gives this telescope a capacity normally only associated with a much larger photo montage, without compromising the smooth tracking movement or reducing the pointing accuracy.
