Features of the electric heater
The handy thing about the electric heater is that it can be connected directly to the mains. If it has a cord, it can be placed quickly in any location, without having to mount it permanently. These stoves or radiators are suitable for various spaces, such as the caravan, shed, living room or study. So pay attention to the heating range and power of the electric stove, so you can be sure that it can be used in the space you have in mind.
The fan heater for hot and fresh air
If you want the heat to spread quickly in your room, then a fan heater is what you are looking for. The fan ensures that the heat of the heating element is moved. In some cases a heater with fan can also be used as a cold air fan. This means that it can not only be used during cold weather conditions, but also offers the necessary cooling in the spring and summer.
Buying a safe and energy-efficient ceramic stove?
The advantage of the ceramic stove is that it is energy-efficient and safe. This means that you not only contribute to a better environment, but also save on energy costs. Moreover, these types of stoves often have a compact size, which means that they can be easily moved or stored. Thanks to the radiant heat dust particles can not burn on the heating element and the airways are not burdened by polluted air. This is therefore very suitable for children.
The infrared stove heats the room quickly
Like the fan heater, the infrared heater is very suitable for heating a small room quickly. This means that the central heating does not need to be switched on and energy is saved. If rooms have to be heated for a longer period of time, then the infrared heater is an expensive solution and you better opt for an accumulation heater. Also, these types of stoves are easy to move - because they are often small and portable - unless it is attached to the wall.
The power of a stove
Now you know which different types of stoves are available. But how do you choose the stove with the right power for the room you want to heat? The power of a stove is shown in watts (W). Some heaters indicate how many square or cubic meters they can heat, but it is good to know that this calculation is based on good insulation. If your house or the room you want to heat is less well insulated, you need a stronger stove. How much watt do you exactly need? You can calculate that in a simple way.
How much watt do I need?
To reach a pleasant temperature of about 18 degrees Celsius, you need 70 watts per cubic meter. Do you want a degree warmer or colder? For a degree more you still need 5% extra watt, for a degree less you also need 5% less watt. In addition, you have to take into account the construction and insulation of your home. If you have a (semi) detached house, you have to count on 10% extra power. A badly insulated house requires a further 15% extra power. Example: do you have a detached house of 120 cubic meters and do you want to heat this house to 20 degrees? - 120 × 70 watt = 8400 watt - 20 degrees stands for 2 × 5% = 10% extra power - A detached house means another 15% extra power - For this house you need one or more heaters of a total of more than 10,000 watt!
