Gevavi GP04 garden gloves

9 Jul 2020
“They keep your hands really clean, good working with roses with thorns. keep your hands dry if you put them in water, until you forget that a small part isn't waterproof; but that is the only disadvantage I have found, and it is just a question of remembering!”

Ulgersma sanded wooden clog

23 Jun 2020
“Ulgersma Sanded Wooden Clogs (Klompenfabriek Nijhuis B.V.) is "the" classic clog made by the most technically advanced Dutch clog manufacturer and are of very high and consistent quality. It is important to get the correct size for your feet and allow that to wear wooden clogs you will need to wear thicker than usual socks for complete comfort but this is actually a good thing for keeping feet warm in winter and cool in summer (thanks to the airflow around the foot). I now have clogs for outdoor working in the garden, slightly bigger for more sock and clogs for the workshop (best safety shoes ever) and my 'House Clogs' for in the house. The footbed is well constructed in these clogs and as someone with rather flat feet, I appreciate the supportive arch that actually adds to my comfort over the course of the day... yes I do now wear wooden clogs all day and I find my feet and legs and even my back feel better for it! They might take a little to get used to at first but it really is well worth! My three strong pieces of advice are 1) Wear thicker socks, 2) Get the correct size for your feet without making any allowance for the thicker socks, and 3) Rub a little Linseed Oil on outside of your clogs to give your clogs a good look and to make them totally weatherproof. Finally, don't be put off by friends or family, they will soon be wanting their own clogs when they see just how practical they are and how happy you are wearing yours. One final tip, if you have long thin feet place a wide strip of leather (e.g. from an old belt) cut to fit and superglued just inside under the top of the clog so it is like a strap over the top and sides of your foot, if needed this simple addition, combined with the socks as mentioned earlier really do make your clogs the super comfy, practical, healthy and safe footwear they are designed to be... Yes, I am a big fan of clogs. ”
